At work
I use AI extensively, as that’s our encouragement. I use it to assist with coding, analytics, and graphing. It’s good to understand how AI works and what its capabilities and limitations are before you can make a judgement on whether it’s “good” or “bad”.
Outside of work
I use AI as an alternative to search. Purely because search doesn’t return what I ask it to. Thirty minutes of searching across multiple search engines will not provide the level of detail that a single well-crafted question to Gemini will. That’s a fact, and it’s unavoidable.
For stuff written on my own websites, whilst I will use search and AI to assist me with word definitions and alternatives, but the content is always my own.
For other projects, I do not knowingly use AI-generated imagery or music, as I know that this is likely to have been generated using material derived and modelled from someone else’s art, and I can’t support that.
